I have always liked the octopus shape and wanted to draw one as realistic as possible. Within a few days of painting I started to hate it! After a few weeks I had the idea that I would make the octopus look a bit steampunk mechanical. This is one of my few paintings that I just really love how it turned from complete mess to a very pleasant surprise.
